Nearly twenty-five thousand households in Queensland's southeast were left without power on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems passed over the area, generating powerful gusts topping 109 kilometers per hour.
Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Destruction

At the same time, around 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also faced electricity disruptions after Melbourne saw its most precipitation in 18 months.
State Emergency Services received over five hundred requests for assistance across the state, primarily for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

At one point on yesterday, in excess of 28,000 power users in the state were experiencing outages.

Moist weather were expected to linger along significant areas of Queensland's east this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was forecast to be the most rainy day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential predicted across various areas of both states.

Medical authorities alerted that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
